Tom Atkinson is a native of Chapin, SC and is the founder/owner of SiteRanger LLC.
Tom graduated from Chapin High School in 2008 and then attended Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC. He graduated from PC in May of 2012 with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. After working in the corporate world for a few years as a Production Supervisor at Cargill, Inc. he decided to fulfill his lifelong goal of serving in the US Military.
Tom enlisted in the Army in May of 2015 as an infantryman. During his training at Fort Benning, he got the opportunity to attend Airborne School and then try out for 75th Ranger Regiment. Tom successfully completed Ranger Assessment and Selection Program (RASP) and was assigned to 1st Ranger Battalion at Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, GA. During his time in 1/75, Tom was given the opportunity to attend Ranger School and successfully graduated in December 2016. Tom deployed to Syria in the summer of 2017 in support of Operation Inherent Resolve. Tom got off of Active Duty in August of 2018 and joined the South Carolina National Guard where he is still serving in an infantry company.
He started SiteRanger LLC in 2019. Site Ranger LLC started solely as a stump grinding company, and has expanded into a full scale tree service. Tom specializes in removing trees that are in tricky locations. Whether they are close to your house, garage, deck, dock, powerlines, etc., Tom has the ability and expertise to safely remove the tree.
Tom is married to his loving wife, Hannah Atkinson, and has three wonderful children, June, Nash and newborn daughter, Ellie. When he is not working, Tom spends his time coaching June and Nash's little league teams and in the outdoors hunting and fishing.
Gary J. Atkinson is the owner at SiteClear, our sister company. SiteClear provides stump grinding and portable sawmill services.
Gary is Tom’s father and a 35+ year resident of Chapin, SC where he lives with wife, Lisa, in a beautiful country setting. He’s a graduate of Milwaukee School of Engineering with multiple degrees. Gary is recently retired from Volvo Construction Equipment where for over forty years he held numerous executive and management positions in customer-facing roles.
Gary is also a Lieutenant Colonel in the South Carolina State Guard and a Senior Reserve Deputy with Richland County Sheriffs Department.
